Welcome to another entry where I write about my journey playing Splinterlands! Initially it was a self challenge, to see how far I could get with the initial set of cards plus whatever I could win. But, that kind of fell apart around week 30 (with the game integrating with the WAX network and users being able to buy and sell cards on Atomic Hub). Now, it’s mainly just me tracking my progress within the game.
A fairly uneventful wrap up to the week. I did get some good luck with daily quest rewards. The big news for the game is that the update to split the game into Modern and Wild formats should be out soon. There’s even an official post about it here!
To summarize, the Modern format will be the latest two main sets of cards, plus their mini-releases, and Wild will be all cards. When the format split releases, Modern will consist of Untamed, Dice, and Chaos Legion sets – plus the reward cards released during the time those sets were available. It should be a lot less expensive to get a decent Modern deck, but there may be less competition in the Wild league. We’ll see what happens once it comes out!
Once again, I didn’t play in any tournaments this past week. I mainly just played to try to get daily focus chest rewards. I ended up finding quite a few packs in my daily focus chests this week. Anyhow, let’s get on to the rewards from this past week:

InvestYGator got Dragon Focus. I received 60 (48 + 10 + 2) DEC, a Gold potion, 2 Legendary potions, an Ever-Hungry Skull (common monster), a Blood Maker, a Chaos Legion pack, and a gold foil Merdhampir!
Daily Quest # 649. Got Life Focus. I decided to go back up to Diamond league. I got a Legendary potion, a Gold potion, a Vampire Bat (common monster), a Pelacor Deceiver (common monster), a Venari Heatsmith (common monster), a Naga Assassin (rare monster), a Venari Wavesmith (rare monster), a Chaos Legion pack, and a gold foil Pelacor Mercenary!

Daily Quest # 654. Got Water focus… re-rolled to Earth Focus. I received 496 (112 + 16 + 304 + 64) DEC, 2 Legendary potions, 2 Gold potions, a Gargoya Lion, a Venari Crystalsmith, a Naga Assassin, and a Tide Biter (epic monster)!
InvestYGator got Draon Focus. I got 52 (46 + 4 + 2) DEC, 2 Legendary potions, 3 Blood Makers, a Pelacor Conjurer, and a Venari Heatsmith.
Even with all of the pack drops, I didn’t open one this week. We’re getting closer to the legendary Life summoner being added, so I’m trying to wait until then to open too many more.
Guild Brawls:
Guild Brawl #88, playing Bronze League Gold Foil Only. Only a couple of opponents this time around, but the guild did manage to come in 2nd place this fray!

The Rest:
No trading once again this week. I expect I might pick up some more cards in a few weeks when the Splintershards (SPS) airdrop ends, and holding DEC doesn’t have any benefits. Really the only thing left is to share the season rewards:
One small, but important, change that was made recently was that the daily Focus chests would now be based on whatever league you were in when that Focus started. This means that I’ll be getting more Gold league chests for the first half of the season, as it’s always tough to grind back up to Diamond. Getting back to Silver hasn’t been an issue on my alt account.
