Welcome to another entry where I write about my journey playing Splinterlands! Initially it was a self challenge, to see how far I could get with the initial set of cards plus whatever I could win. But, that kind of fell apart around week 30 (with the game integrating with the WAX network and users being able to buy and sell cards on Atomic Hub). Now, it’s mainly just me tracking my progress within the game.
The big news this week is that Modern and Wild update has been officially announced as coming out on the 14th, right after this season ends. This is actually a shorter season than normal. To accommodate a Thursday patch date the season was shortened to 13 days.
A small patch occurred a little over a week ago that I failed to really cover. The biggest change was that the daily Focus quest tier is now based on whatever league you are in when the quest starts, so if you drop down precipitously, you are no longer stuck getting no chests on your daily, and if you jump way up from where you had finished, you no longer easily get 30 lower-level chests all season.
Otherwise, it’s been a fairly uneventful week. Just trying to earn daily chests and get back up into Diamond on my main account. Here’s the breakdown of this past week:
Daily Quest Rewards:
Daily Quest # 655. Got Water focus… re-rolled to Death Focus by mistake. I only got one chest with 48 DEC and lost a lot of games.
InvestYGator, my alt account, got Death Focus. I got out of Bronze I and back into Silver in no time, getting 8 DEC, 3 Gold potions, an Ever-Hungry Skull (common monster), and a Pelacor Bandit (common monster).
Daily Quest # 656. Got Earth Focus. This was after the patch noted above, so these are all Gold chests instead of Diamond. I received 224 (80 + 40 + 104) Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), 2 Gold potions, and a Venari Seedsmith (rare monster).
InvestYGator got Life Focus. I didn’t play him that much, and only got 2 Venari Heatsmiths (common monster).
Daily Quest # 657. Got Dragon Focus. I received 56 DEC, 2 Gold potions, a Gargoya Lion (common monster), a Pelacor Mercenary (common monster), a Blood Maker (common monster), a Gargoya Lion (common monster), a Merdhampir (common monster), and an Exploding Rats (rare monster).
InvestYGator got Death Focus. I got 14 (8 + 6) DEC, 2 Gold potions, a Venari Heatsmith, an Ever-Hungry Skull, and a Pelacor Mercenary.
Daily Quest # 658. Got Death Focus… re-rolled to Life Focus. I was a little worried, but did okay getting 32 (8 + 24) DEC, 2 Gold potions, and a Pelacor Deciever.
InvestYGator got Death Focus. I got 286 (50 + 222 + 14) DEC, a Legendary potion, a Pelacor Conjurer, a Pelacor Bandit, and a Chaos Legion pack!
Daily Quest # 659. Got Life Focus. I finally made it back into Gold I at least, and got (80 + 48) DEC, 2 Gold potions, a Pelacor Bandit (common monster), a Blood Maker, and a Dhampir Infiltrator (rare monster).
InvestYGator got Water Focus. I received 196 (12 + 44 + 38 + 102) DEC, 3 Legendary potions, a Gold potion, a Pelacor Conjurer (common monster), a Pelacor Deceiver (common monster), a Venari Heatsmith, and an Ever-Hungry Skull.
Daily Quest # 660. Got Earth Focus. I received 3 Gold potions, 2 Merdhampirs, a Pelacor Conjurer, a Pelacor Deceiver, and a Venari Heatsmith.
InvestYGator got Water Focus. I got 94 (20 + 6 + 38 + 14 + 14 + 2 DEC), 2 Gold potions, a Legendary potion, a Pelacor Conjurer, a Pelacor Bandit, a Vampire Bat (common monster), a Gargoya Lion, and a Vulgine (rare monster).
Daily Quest # 661. Got Fire Focus… re-rolled to Life Focus. I made it back into Diamond and got 432 (240 + 72 + 120) DEC, a Pelacor Mercenary, a Blood Maker, a Gargoya Lion, and a Gargoya Devil (rare monster).
InvestYGator got Earth Focus. I got 72 (60 + 12) DEC, 2 Legendary potions, a Blood Maker, a Pelacor Mercenary, a Merdhampir, a Venari Crystalsmith (rare monster), and a Lava Launcher (epic monster)!
Guild Brawl #89, playing Bronze League Gold Foil Only. While I had five matches, only 3 opponents submitted teams. The guild did decently this time around, coming in third place.
I also earned enough merits to get another Gladiator pack.
No trading or tournaments again this week, as usual. We are down to almost 100,000 packs left until the first Chaos Legion legendary Summoner card gets released. I expect it will speed up near the end, as people try to get more air drop points.
The U.S. dollar valuation of DEC is also down well below peg. It will probably continue to drop until the Splintershard token ends, which is a few weeks away. I may buy Chaos Legion packs, or just hold onto some of mine, once the air drop ends.
And, that’s about it for this week. If you made it this far, thank you for reading! I’ll be back next week with the season wrap up. And, if you have any questions or comments, please let me know below!
