Welcome to another article where I write about my journey playing Splinterlands! With the close of this past season, we are on to a whole new set of Reward cards. As I mentioned last week, the big feature of these is that they are going to be account bound, unable to be sold or traded away.
However, this article is to look back at the season that just ended. I’ll get into the new cards next week, once I’ve actually gotten a few of them! The latest changes put in prior to the new reward cards coming out are three rules sets being applied in Gold league and higher, plus two new rules sets. For the two new rules, one is where only Magic attack monsters can be used and the other is where only Ranged attack monsters can be played.
These are basically extensions of the Melee only monster rule set. Those were the only real game impacting changes last week. So, without further ado, let’s get on with the results from this final season with tradable reward cards.

I opened on Gladiator pack:
No tournaments this week, as usual. But, with the end of the current reward cards being printed, I did go out and buy a few to finish leveling up some cards. Granted, I’ll need to actually get back into Diamond for that to matter.
As usual, I jumped up to Gold right at the end of the season with my InvestYGator account. Here’s what I got on that account for the season:
My main ended last season in Diamond, as I did in this season. Here’s what I got for my final season of the old reward cards:
Not my best end-of-season rewards, but also not my worst. I kind of like the new three rule sets change, as it does switch things up in Gold league. The Ranged only rule can be a little annoying, particularly in Silver with limited elements being available.
I am also looking forward to the new season. I’m curious what impact the new account-bound reward cards will have on the ecosystem. From what I’ve seen on the QA environment, they seem like fairly powerful cards.
That’s it for this week! I hope that you had a good January and thank you for reading. I’ll be back next week with some new cards!
