Welcome to another entry where I write about my journey playing Splinterlands! Initially it was a self challenge, to see how far I could get with the initial set of cards plus whatever I could win. But, that kind of fell apart around week 30 (with the game integrating with the WAX network and users being able to buy and sell cards on Atomic Hub). Now, it’s mainly just me tracking my progress within the game.
The price of Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), the main currency in the game continues to head back to its $.001 soft-peg. It still seems a little early, considering there are ~100 days of Splintershard token (SPS) air drops left. Performance issues on production came up when trying to roll out the last update, so it was delayed until a future date. The big news this week is that the team published a roadmap for the next year.
Not a whole lot new since the last update. I’ve mainly just continued doing my daily quests and stacking up reward cards. Here’s the usual breakdown of the past week:
Daily Quest Rewards:
Daily Quest # 567. Win 5 with Water. Back in Gold III for the start of the new season. For completing this daily quest, I received 11 (6 + 5) DEC, a Pelacor Conjurer (common monster), a Pelacor Deceiver (common monster), a Naga Assassin (rare monster), and a Venari Wavesmith (rare monster).
Daily Quest # 568. Win 3 with No Neutral. I did enough matches to get back into Gold II, getting 17 (5 + 4 + 7 + 1) DEC, 2 Gold potions, and a Pelacor Bandit (common monster) after completing my daily quest.
Daily Quest # 569. Win 5 with Death… re-rolled to Win 5 with Fire. I rented a Yodin to complete my daily quest, and got 18 (9 + 8 + 1) DEC, a Gold potion, a Legendary potion, a Pelacor Mercenary (common monster), and a Pelacor Deceiver.
Daily Quest # 570. Win 5 with Earth. For completing this daily quest, I received 26 (10 + 7 + 7 + 2) DEC, a Gold potion, a Venari Heatsmith (common monster), and an Exploding Rats (rare monster). Of note, I got a Djinn O’Shannus on my InvestYGator alt account!
Daily Quest # 571. Win 3 with No Neutral. I got back into Gold I, and received 35 (10 + 10 + 6 + 9) DEC, a Gold potion, a Legendary potion, a Pelacor Conjurer, and a Venari Crystalsmith (rare monster).
Daily Quest # 572. Win 5 with Fire.. re-rolled to Win 5 with Sneak. For completing this daily quest, I received 20 (10 + 5 + 5) DEC, 2 Legendary potions, a Venari Heatsmith, a Gargoya Lion (common monster), and a Chaos Legion pack!
Daily Quest # 573. Win 5 with Snipe. For completing this daily quest, I got 31 (27 + 4) DEC, a Gold potion, a Pelacor Deceiver, a Pelacor Bandit, a Pelacor Mercenary, and 2 Gargoya Lions.
Daily Quest # 574. Win 5 with Water. To wrap up the week, I got 21 (10 + 11) DEC, 2 Gold potions, a Gargoya Lion, a Pelacor Mercenary, a Pelacor Deceiver, and a Lava Launcher (epic monster)!
There are still about 850,000 more packs until the first legendary summoner card for Chaos Legion comes out. I’m still holding onto my packs until then, though I will likely open a few once they start getting released.
Guild Brawls:
Guild Brawl #74, playing Gold foil Bronze. This was not a great brawl for me. The game went down as I tried to submit my first team, and it was generally not great from there. Overall the guild came in 4th place this time around.
Vs. Splintercogg of FINANZCREW
Vs. STDD of (something in Cyrillic)
Vs. Prach of MAS-MYTHREL ARTS STUDIOS
Vs. STEPPENWOLF of HD3 TENTACLES OF THOG
I did buy and open one more Gladiator pack:
The Rest:
I’ve still been skipping tournaments, though I should probably try to enter some to pick up the extra SPS from hopefully limping into the bottom of the prizes. No real trading still, though I keep meaning to pick up some more cards with my DEC. Heck, I still need to balance out my cards, so my alt account has more level 2 summoners to get through the daily quests easier.
I’ve also definitely been losing on potential earnings by not renting out a lot of my extra cards. Ah well, it does leave them free in case I want to delegate them out to new people. I also tend to feel bad about cancelling rentals, even if I later want to combine the cards for my own use.
That’s about it for this week! Thank you for reading and if you have any questions or comments, please let me know. I’ll be back next week with the season wrap up!
