Welcome to another entry where I write about my journey playing Splinterlands! After the last season ended up being extra long with the introduction of the Modern and Wild formats, this one is back to the regular 15 days. I briefly hit Champion for the first time last season, so I’m excited to see what this season’s end-of-season rewards look like, since I’ll be getting Champion chests.
So far I have just been bouncing around Gold League on my main this season. I’m continuing to play in Silver League on my InvestYGator alternate account. Both accounts are primarily playing in the Wild format, where all cards are legal.
With the end of the Splintershard (SPS) token airdrop, which I may have breezed by in a previous article, the new main method for getting SPS is now liquidity pools. While Validator Licenses should also start giving SPS this month, the game has already implemented liquidity pool rewards. These liquidity pools also included Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), the other game currency. I put a little DEC and BUSD in a pool way back around article #52, so I am now getting a few extra DEC a day.
That was the big news for this past week. One of the owners has been teasing some “big announcement” at the upcoming Town Hall meeting, where the team does a live stream. But, I’ll need to cover that in my next article. For now, let’s get into the usual break down of the season so far.
Daily Quest Rewards:
Daily Quest # 687. Got Healing Focus. I’m back in Gold I following the reset, where I got 224 (80 + 80 + 64) DEC, 10 (4 + 6) Legendary potions, and 18 (10 + 8) Gold potions.
InvestYGator got Water Focus. I quickly made my way back up to Silver III before the quest reset, to avoid getting a day of Bronze rewards. I received 52 DEC, 2 Gold potions, and a Gargoya Lion (common monster).
Daily Quest # 688. Got Earth Focus. I received 712 DEC, 47 (38 + 9) Merits, 12 Gold potions, 8 Legendary potions, a Venari Heatsmith (common monster), a Vampire Bat (common monster), an Ever-Hungry Skull (common monster), a Blood Maker (common monster), and 2 Chaos Legion packs!
InvestYGator got Fire Focus. I got 44 (12 + 18 + 14) DEC, and a Pelacor Deceiver (common monster).
Daily Quest # 689. Got Flying Focus. I received 56 DEC, 38 Merits, 6 Gold potions, a Pelacor Deceiver, 2 Venari Wavesmiths (rare monster), and a gold foil Merdhampir (common monster).
InvestYGator got Stealth Focus. I got 80 (28 + 6 + 46) DEC, 2 Legendary potions, a Vampire Bat, an Ever-Hungry Skull, a Blood Maker, (common monster) and a gold foil Gargoya Lion.
Daily Quest # 690. Got Healing Focus. I received 1272 (1160 + 32 + 40 + 40) DEC, 5 Gold potions, a Gargoya Lion, a Pelacor Bandit (common monster), and a Chaos Legion pack!
InvestYGator got Fire Focus. I got 26 (12 + 14) DEC, 11 Merits, 3 (1 + 2) Legendary potions, a Blood Maker, and a Pelacor Bandit.
Daily Quest # 691. Got Dragon Focus. I received 1312 (24 + 1200 + 64 + 24) DEC, an Ever-Hungry Skull, and a Vampire Bat.
InvestYGator got Fire Focus. I got 140 (54 + 14 + 56 + 16) DEC, 24 (8 + 8 + 8) Merits, 4 (2 + 2) Gold potions, and a Pelacor Mercenary (common monster).
Daily Quest # 692. Got Death Focus… re-rolled to Anti Melee (thorns/retaliate) Focus. I received 392 (168 + 64 + 80 + 80) DEC, 1,295 (86 + 38 + 307 + 864) Merits, 19 (8 + 11) Legendary potions, 14 (9 + 5) Gold potions, a Vampire Bat, a Gargoya Lion, and a Pelacor Deceiver.
InvestYGator got Earth Focus. I got 104 (14 + 12 + 16 + 30 + 32) DEC, 3 Gold potions, 5 (3 + 2) Legendary potions, 16 Merits, and a Venari Seedsmith (rare monster).
I opened a couple Chaos Legion packs:
Guild Brawl #94, playing Bronze League Gold Foil Only. A couple of people failed to submit their teams this time around, leaving the guild to come in 7th place overall.
I got enough Merits to get one more Gladiator pack:
No real trading or tournaments this week. I did move a little SPS into a liquidity pool, to earn some more SPS as reward. But, otherwise it has been a fairly quiet week.
As usual, I plan to stay in Silver on my alt, and try to move up to Diamond on my main. Also as usual, I plan to continue to farm up rewards. I still haven’t spent any of my DEC since the air drop of SPS ended. I’d like to buy individual cards, but I’m waiting to see if the value of DEC goes back up a bit more.
And, that’s about it for this week. If you made it this far, thank you for reading! I’ll be back next week with the season wrap up. And, if you have any questions or comments, please let me know below!
