Splinterland Self Challenge

My Splinterlands Blog #73 – New Death Promo, End of Another Season

Welcome to another entry where I write about my journey playing Splinterlands! Initially it was a self challenge, to see how far I could get with the initial set of cards plus whatever I could win. But, that kind of fell apart around week 30 (with the game integrating with the WAX network and users being able to buy and sell cards on Atomic Hub). Now, it’s mainly just me tracking my progress within the game.

The big news from this past week was the release of the Waka Spiritblade promo card. Five hundred copies were released on the in-game store and sold out in under a minute. They were only released as max level cards, and have been put up on markets at a price of slightly over $2,000.

He gives your team the chance to poison enemy monsters.

Otherwise, it has been a fairly quiet week. There was an announcement that a third party will be taking over handling BSC and Eth chain transactions, with a small fee being added to pay said company. This being a short month, this was a shorter season than normal. So, let’s run through this past week:

Daily Quest Rewards:

Daily Quest # 533. Win 5 with Dragon. For completing this daily quest, I received a Gold potion, 2 Gargoya Lions (common monster), 2 Pelacor Bandits (common monster), 2 Pelacor Mercenaries (common monster), and a Chaos Legion pack!

However, nothing too exciting in the pack.

Daily Quest # 534. Win 5 with Dragon. For completing this daily quest, I received 1 Dark Energy Crystal (DEC), 2 Gold potions, a Pelacor Conjurer (common monster), a Pelacor Deceiver (common monster), a Pelacor Mercenary, a Gargoya Devil (rare monster), and a Gold Foil Gargoya Lion!

Daily Quest # 535. Win 5 with Sneak. For finishing this daily quest, I received 12 (6 + 6) DEC, a Gold potion, a Legendary potion, a Pelacor Conjurer, a Pelacor Mercenary, a Twilight Basilisk (rare monster), and a Gold Foil Pelacor Mercenary! My InvestYGator account also got a Djinn Chwala (epic monster)!

Daily Quest # 536. Win 5 with Death… re-rolled to Win 3 with No Neutral. After completing this quest, I got 19 (8 + 6 + 5) DEC, a Legendary potion, 2 Gold potions, a Pelacor Deceiver, and a Venari Heatsmith (common monster).

Daily Quest # 537. Win 5 with Death… re-rolled to Win 5 with Fire. After renting a Yodin for a day to get through this quest, I received 23 (10 + 10 + 3) DEC, a Gold potion, a Legendary potion, a Pelacor Bandit, a Pelacor Conjurer, and a Gargoya Lion.

Daily Quest # 538. Win 3 with No Neutral. I advanced to Diamond III before finishing this quest and got 21 DEC, 3 Venari Heatsmiths, 2 Pelacor Bandits, a Pelacor Conjurer, a Pelacor Mercenary, a Venari Crystalsmith (rare monster), and a Djinn Renova (epic monster)! InvestYGator also got a Djinn Renova after finishing his daily quest in Gold II!

Guild Brawls:

Guild Brawl #66, playing Gold foil Bronze, Untamed only. I actually missed our final guild standing this week. But, I got a decent amount of merits, so I’m pretty sure we were in the top 3.

Vs. WAXTORTLE of Cry Yuh Bish – opponent fled

Vs. JK420 of #FHREE.ORG

Vs. KOPERINI of EARNEST SAMIRAI JPN

The Rest:

Once again, I didn’t play in any tournaments this week. I did do a little spending with the Hive I got from selling my vouchers when the price spiked up on them. I picked up two more Djinn Oshannus (legendary monster) cards to combine mine up to level 3, an Iza the Fanged (legendary monster) to combine with my other pair to get a level 2 version, three copies of Zyvax Vuul to combine into a level 2 version, and a few Radiated Brutes (common monster) to work on leveling up that Chaos Legion common.

While these are some of the cheapest legendary cards, only the Djinn is especially good. Level 3 Iza the Fanged becomes playable in Gold league, so I wanted to move towards getting her leveled up. I did also pick up 4 Dice packs that were cheaper on Atomic Hub than Hive Engine by a good margin with the intent to flip them. Granted, I won’t be too put out if I “have to” open them instead.

Like most recent seasons, I ended with my main account in Diamond III. I also got up to Gold II with my InvestYGator account. Here’s what I got for season rewards:

Lots of cards on my InvestYGator account.
One pack and one gold foil common of note on my main account.

I continued to skip tournaments, though I should probably try to get back into them. My only real plans for the upcoming season are to continue doing more of the same – farming up rewards and accumulating cards. We’ll see if there’s a new voucher sink coming down the line as well.

That’s about it for this season wrap up. Thank you for reading. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know and I’ll be back next week with another report!
