Welcome to another entry where I write about my journey playing Splinterlands! Initially it was a self challenge, to see how far I could get with the initial set of cards plus whatever I could win. But, that kind of fell apart around week 30 (with the game integrating with the WAX network and users being able to buy and sell cards on Atomic Hub). Now, it’s mainly just me tracking my progress within the game.
It has been a pretty quiet week for all things Splinterlands. There was no Ask-Me-Anything with the owners this week, as they were at a conference. There also hasn’t been a patch, as the heads of development were also at said conference. Tournaments are currently not being populated as the new tournament organizer, going by the handle Weird Beard, gets up to speed.
As usual at the midpoint of the season, I’ve gotten my main account up to Gold I and my alt account to Silver I. This may be a bit of a short update, since it’s mostly just daily quests. So, let’s get on with the usual weekly breakdown:
Daily Quest Rewards:
Daily Quest # 512 – Win 5 with Fire… re-rolled to Win 5 with Earth! Back in Gold III and with no desire to rent a Yodin, I was happy to get a Splinter that I have the cards for. For completing this daily quest, I received 10 Dark Energy Crystals (DEC), a Legendary potion, 2 Gargoya Lions (common monster), an Exploding Rats (rare monster), and a Venari Bonesmith (rare monster).
Daily Quest # 513 – Win 5 with Water. I went on a win streak and got into Gold II, earning 4 DEC, a Gold potion, a Legendary potion, 2 Pelacor Bandits (common monster), a Twilight Basilisk (rare monster), and a Venari Bonesmith for completing the daily quest.
Daily Quest # 514 – Win 5 with Fire… re-rolled to Win 5 with Earth! For completing this daily quest, I received 155 (150 + 2 + 2 + 1) DEC, a Legendary potion, a Venari Crystalsmith (rare monster), and a Djinn Biljka (legendary monster)!
Daily Quest # 515 – Win 3 with No Neutral. For finishing this quest, I got 14 DEC, a Legendary potion, 2 Gargoya Lions, a Pelacor Conjurer (common monster), and a Pelacor Deceiver (common monster).
Daily Quest # 516 – Win 5 with Snipe. For finishing this daily quest, I received 2 Gold potions, 2 Pelacor Bandits, a Pelacor Conjurer, a Pelacor Mercenary, and a Venari Crystalsmith. Of note, my InvestyGator account got a Uraeus (epic monster)!
Daily Quest # 517 – Win 5 with Water. For completing this daily quest, I got 10 DEC, a Gold potion, 2 Legendary potions, a Venari Heatsmith (common monster), a Pelacor Bandit, and a Naga Assassin (rare monster).
Daily Quest # 518 – Win 5 with Dragon. I managed to climb up to Gold I and got 37 DEC (29 + 8), a Legendary potion, a Pelacor Conjurer, a Pelacor Deceiver, a Gargoya Lion, a Venari Heatsmith, and a Venari Seedsmith (rare monster) for completing the daily quest.
Daily Quest # 519 – Win 5 with Sneak. For finishing this daily quest, I received 2 Gold potions, 2 Legendary potions, a Pelacor Mercenary, a Gargoya Lion, a Venari Heatsmith, and a Venari Seedsmith.
I also opened the 3 Chaos Packs I got as season rewards:
Tournaments:
No tournaments this week for me.
Guild Brawls:
Guild Brawl #62, playing Gold foil Bronze, Untamed only. The guild did slightly better this week, coming in 4th place. We also replaced a couple of people that had stopped playing. With how few opponents I end up playing against, I should probably just sell my gold foil legendary summoner.
Vs. MARKETINGGEEK of Old Legendary Dragons
Vs. LegendaryCanary of Canary Island (opponent didn’t submit a team)
The Rest:
It has been a pretty quiet week all around. No real trading to speak of, and I’m not really entering a lot of contests anymore, as I feel that I should be leaving those to newer players.
I’m finishing out a couple of weeks at my old day job, and have been pretty slammed with work there. The main things on the horizon for the game are the Modern and Wild ranked format split, as well as that whole Land expansion thing. No real time lines announced on when those will be out, but I’m sure it’ll be brought up in the next AMA.
And, that’s about it for this week! If you made it this far, thank you for reading. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know. I’ll be back next week with another update!
