Welcome to another article where I write about my journey playing Splinterlands! The final season of June 2023 has wrapped up, and while this may not be the worst I’ve done, it certainly seems to be the worst I’ve finished on my main account in some time. But, before we get into the end of the season, let’s take a look at what’s new since my last update.
The new Collection and Card Market pages were released, as part of the ongoing Tech Modernization project. They were slightly buggy, to massively understate it, and got rolled back on mobile-sized screens as they were unusable at low resolutions. A lot of the major issues were patched, but it still has quite a few little bugs. The main feature was shifting the sorting to the side, though it does feel pretty awkward when I’m used to the old top of the page sorting selections.
In bigger news for gameplay, the season rating resets were adjusted. You now reset to the middle of the new league, rather than the bottom – so, you no longer will drop down a league if you lose your first match of the season. I think it is a pretty nice quality of life improvement.
The 5th Anniversary event has also wrapped up. I did not participate, as I’m already short Dark Energy Crystals (DEC) for the upcoming Land 1.5 release. A lot of DEC was spent on guild points, giving you prize entries, though most of the spending was at the start.
There were a few other minor changes, but nothing of real note. Still waiting for a ban on bots in Modern Format, Land 1.5, and Tower Defense to come out. In the meantime, let’s take a look at the breakdown of the second half of this past season.

I also opened two more Chaos Legion packs:
Guild Brawls:
Guild Brawl #155, playing Bronze League Gold Foil Only. The guild came in 4th from last place with one person failing to submit teams.
Vs. ACOLYTESOFHELIO of ACOLYTES OF HELIO
Vs. ESTEBAM of NFG CLUB – LEGION I
Vs. KRISTHEL0720 of ULTIMATE GAMERS
Vs. DREAMSBIG6923 of [YGG] LEGION II
Guild Brawl #156, playing Bronze League Gold Foil Only. The guild came in last place with two people failing to submit teams for a significant number of matches.
Vs. SUALES272 of THE FAMILY TREE
Vs. YOUICHI of SAMURAI SOUL LLAC
Vs. LARKIN36 of THE MYTHICAL LOWLANDS
It is kind of annoying that I’ve been doing fairly well in brawls, but the guild is getting dragged down by a lack of people participating, or people just leeching rewards without actually submitting teams. I opened one Gladiator pack:
The Rest:
No real trading or tournaments, which has become the norm. This was one of my worst recent seasons, where I failed to get into Diamond League on my main account. I probably should have focused more on Modern, as I ended up going from Gold III to Gold I on the last couple days of the season. I spent too much time just beating my head against the wall in Wild.
Granted, I might have had the same experience in Modern at that point in the season. Still, a bit of a disappointing performance overall. Looking back, my daily rewards actually were fairly nice, though my seasonal rewards were a bit lackluster this time around.
That’s about it for this season. The team had said a lot of big items were coming out in June, but it looks like they’ve been pushed to July or August… hopefully not even later. Hopefully they also finish them, and aren’t rushing them out the door, albeit already later than expected.
For next season, I plan to try to focus a bit more on Modern on my main account and see if that helps. Thank you for reading! If you have any questions or feedback, please let me know in the comments below.
