Welcome to another article where I write about my journey playing Splinterlands! The long Halloween season has ended and the first November season has just begun. The main item of note is that the Runi mint was opened up on OpenSea.
Just as a recap, Runi are a new max level card that will only be created on the Ethereum network and act as both a custom profile picture as well as a monster in-game. They did a 100 voucher pre-purchase that let you claim yours during the first week, for about $250 worth of Ethereum (ETH). They actually set it to 0.19 ETH as the set value, but due to a price jump in that currency it quickly became closer to $280 to create a card.
I ended up getting talked into getting one early mint spot, as I do have a lot of extra vouchers accumulating. I am playing at higher levels, so maybe I’ll get some use out of the card in the game. Other than that, I got one that looks fairly decent at least, which is the main concern most people have with these new cards. The ones with rare parts on colorful background have been in demand at high prices.
So far, all Runi have been selling for more than the initial minting cost. However, the public minting that starts in a couple of days is going to be for a cost of 0.38 ETH. This was originally supposed to be $500, but is now closer to $600. I should also note that scammers have been very actively trying to steal people’s ETH or sell fake Runi NFTs.
That’s about it for news of note. Let’s move on to the usual breakdown of the past week and season rewards:

Guild Brawl #111, playing Bronze League Gold Foil Only. Once again, not a great showing and the guild came in third from last place.
This season I ended up with about the same number of chests in both my main and alternate account. I think that moving up to get the Gold season chests on InvestYGator was worth it overall, since the Gold chests seem to be better than Silver on average. No trading or tournaments, as usual.
Getting out of Gold League was a pain, though I did manage to do it on my main account at the end of the season. The SPS rewards in Diamond were also noticeably better than Gold for most of the time I was in there as well. Anyhow, here’s what I got this season:
I actually did pretty decent on my alt, getting up to 66th place in Silver before deciding to call it a season and move to Gold. I could have probably gotten a little higher, but I doubt I would have played enough to get to the leaderboard prize spots. I also was happy to make it up to Diamond 2 on my main, so I only reset back to Gold II. Getting one loss and falling back into Silver after the season ends can be a pain.
I also didn’t open any packs this week. I’m seeing if I can get another 100 Chaos Legion packs out of chests before the last Legendary summoner comes out. No real reason, other than something to shoot for. I’m up to 20 so far!
And, that’s really about it for this season! If you made it this far, thank you for reading! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to let me know below. I’ll also be back next week with an update on the new season!
